"The worst sin towards our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them. That's the essence of inhumanity. "

Friend of the Week

Friend of the week is an animal friend that needs help either by taking care of him/her for a period of time or temporally.  Give a chance to a friend of the week to be your friend for a life time.

THIS WEEK WE HAVE FIVE GORGEOUS FELINE FRIENDS IN SEARCH OF A LOVABLE HOME

1. ICHIBA (#1 cat in Chinese): Siamese, male, neutered, front declawed, 3 yrs, short fur, serious and extremely shy (has been hiding for the past two days, poor baby), to date has not talked at all, seems to feel most comfortable with MARCUS and 'AY YOU

2. SONIA: gray tabby, female, spayed, only one of this group that is not declawed, 3 yrs, super soft short fur (almost like rabbit fur), serious and affectionate, loves armchairs and sofas (had her out for awhile last night), also likes to sleep in a paper grocery bag I gave them, doesn't seem to be a talker, is indifferent to other cats, more people oriented (although I did catch her grooming ONYX on one occasion)

3. 'AY YOU (as in "Hey, you!"): black and white, female, spayed, front declawed, 4 yrs, short fur, sweet and funny-faced, a talker (says things like "Mwrawk!"), likes to curl up in your lap, or on your back or chest when you like on the floor, have seen her hanging out with ICHIBA and, on other occasions, ONYX, seems to get along with all the others, really

4. ONXY: black, female, spayed, front and back declawed (so MUST be kept indoors ALWAYS), 4 yrs, sleek short fur, super affectionate and outgoing, such a cool cat, loves to lap sit and to bathe you, does give love bites (probably because of the declawing), is talkative (says, "Meep... Meep") and playful, gets along best with 'AY YOU

5. MARCUS: white with beige (a bit Siamese-looking with striking bright blue eyes), male, neutered, front declawed, 2 yrs, short to medium fur with some matting right now (I've removed some felted fur and am working bit by bit on brushing out the rest), direct and loving and really almost dog-like the way he follows you around begging for attention, a talker (looks up at you with a super direct gaze and says "Meow.. Meow" when he wants something), a bit of a bully with the girls when attention is being distributed ('AY YOU seems least fazed by his growling, which is all he does as far as I can tell, and he doesn't pick on ICHIBA at all, probably because ICHIBA is an anti-attention seeker), would no doubt be happiest as an only cat if only because he wants to be the king, but good luck, right?  He's coped so far, he'll just have to continue.  :)
